LINCOLNVILLE — Longtime journalist 咪咪埃德蒙兹 will lead “Telling Our Stories,” a memoir and nonfiction writing workshop, 在周六, 11月. 从下午2点到5点.m., at the 林肯维尔社区图书馆.

什么是回忆录? 什么是故事? And how might a writer tell that story? In addition to introducing these and other questions, Edmunds will share from her memoir, which she has written with her daughter.

Participants will then practice some storytelling by writing their own short pieces in response to a series of prompts. Each person will have the chance to read aloud at least one of their pieces and discuss it with the group. The afternoon will end with a time for people to ask questions and tell about projects they may already be working on.

Edmunds has had a long career in broadcast journalism and documentary film production, 包括CBS新闻, PBS和探索网络. She has taught journalism and filmmaking at the University of Southern California and Emerson College, and since 1986 has been on the faculty of Maine Media in Rockport. 最近, she earned a master’s degree in creative nonfiction from the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast Program.

Both beginning and more experienced writers are welcome to participate in this workshop.

There is no charge, but registration is required.
