Emma Grant named director of Professional Education for PBMC, WCGH

ROCKPORT — Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) and Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH) announce the promotion of Emma (MJ) Grant to the position of director of Professional Education. She previously served as a clinical nurse educator on the Special Care Unit at PBMC.

“MJ has a deep background of clinical education both in hospitals and at the university level and is well-prepared to take on this vital role,” said Ellen Leone, RN, MSN, the chief nursing officer at PBMC and WCGH. in a news release. “Her commitment to educating the next generation of nurses has been instrumental in shaping the way we deliver healthcare to our patients.”

In addition to her previous role as clinical nurse educator at PBMC, Grant has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Maine since 2021. During her tenure, she instructed Med/Surg clinical rotations, a fundamentals of nursing lab, and a health assessment lab for BSN nursing students, according to the hospitals.

Grant also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Maine from 2014 to 2015. During this time, she taught an inquiry-based lab curriculum to biology undergraduate students.

A number of years of hands-on experience as a nurse at Mid Coast Parkview Health in Brunswick provided Grant with valuable insights that she now brings to her educational roles. She received her nursing degree from the University of Southern Maine in 2017.
